Fitness-To-Travel Medicals

A Fitness to Travel Certificate is a medical document that verifies your suitability to travel, including on flights. Some airlines or insurers may request this certificate.

During your Fitness to Travel Medical assessment, our doctor will carry out a comprehensive review including:

  • Full medical history and details of your current condition

  • Review of recent treatment, procedures, or medication

  • Clinical examination (if required)

  • Discussion of any airline-specific or insurer-specific requirements

  • Completion of documentation and issuance of a signed Fitness to Fly Certificate (if appropriate)

Our assessments are discreet, compassionate, and tailored to your individual needs, with same-day appointments available in most cases.

We always recommend contacting your travel agent prior to booking to confirm whether a certificate is required, and if they have specific forms or wording they need us to complete.

Fitness to Travel assessments are conducted according to clinical judgment and current medical standards. A certificate will only be issued if the doctor is satisfied that travel poses no significant risk to your health or to the safety of others. If we are unable to issue a certificate, you will receive a full explanation and advice on next steps.

Whether for work, travel, education, or personal reasons, our medical certificates are issued following a professional clinical assessment conducted by a qualified healthcare practitioner.

Our certificates are issued only when clinically appropriate and based on a professional medical evaluation in line with UK medical standards and ethical guidance.

We provide certificates for a wide range of purposes, including but not limited to:

  • Fitness to Work or Return to Work Certificates

  • Sickness or Absence from Work Certificates

If deemed clinically justified, the medical certificate will be issued, signed, and stamped.

We offer a fast, efficient and confidential service with our GMC-registered medical professionals, often with same-day appointments (subject to availability).
